Privacy policy

This policy explains what information PressRoom (pressroom.in) collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

Effective date: 17 October 2026.

Who we are

PressRoom is operated by Aurist Private Limited, India, which decides how the information described here is used. Contact: info@pressroom.in.

What we collect

When you read PressRoom

We measure how our pages are used with our own privacy-friendly analytics: pages viewed, time spent and how far you scroll, the site or link that brought you, campaign tags in links, and your device type, browser, screen size, language and time zone. A random identifier stored in your browser lets us count unique readers. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not store your IP address in our analytics, and we do not track you across other websites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your visit at all.

Information you choose to give us

  • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
  • News tips: your message and, only if you add them, your name, email and a link.
  • Emails to us: whatever you include in your message.

Kept on your device only

Stories you save, your reading progress and your display settings (dark mode, text size) are stored in your own browser. They are never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Hosting and security

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site quickly and protect it from attacks.

Advertising

Ads on PressRoom are served by our own system. We count how many times each ad is seen and clicked, in aggregate, to report to advertisers. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. If we ever work with an advertising network, we will update this policy before doing so.

How we use information

To publish and improve PressRoom, understand which stories readers find useful, send the newsletter you asked for, follow up on tips, answer your messages, and keep the site secure. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

Only service providers that run parts of PressRoom for us, under contract and for these purposes: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Supabase (our database for analytics, newsletter sign-ups and tips) and our email provider. We will disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Analytics records are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Tips and emails are kept only as long as we need them for reporting or to respond to you.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct or update it, or erase it, and you can withdraw consent you have given (for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter). Write to info@pressroom.in with the subject "Privacy request". If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Grievance officer

For any concern about privacy or our content, contact our Grievance Officer at info@pressroom.in (subject: "Grievance"). We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

Children

PressRoom is written for adults working in media and business and is not directed at children under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above, and we will highlight significant changes on this page.
